On human beings.
February 6, 2024

30 years has taught me that there is nothing more important than a safe place to call home.
In one regard, Brooklyn represents a physical one for me free from abuse, trauma, and fear that marked my final year in San Francisco.
Much more importantly though, my home safe is the extraordinary, comforting, complex, flawed, kind, challenging, and beautiful menagerie of human beings who carry me when the burden of being transgender and mentally ill becomes too heavy in a world stacked against me and them.
Goddamn I am filled with love for each and every one of you. Love is all we need and love is all there is.
